Rabbi Yosef Levin was born in England, and attended Rabbinical schools in France, Israel, New Jersey and New York. He received a Bachelors degree at the Rabbinical College of America, and was ordained at the Lubavitch Yeshiva in 1979. Rabbi Levin and his wife Dena moved to Palo Alto in 1980, dedicating their lives to reaching out unconditionally to all Jews with education, connection and social services.
He established the Palo Alto Chabad Center, the Gan Torah Preschool, the Dryan Family Mikvah, Chabad centers in Sunnyvale, Stanford, Los Altos, Mountain View and Menlo Park, the Friendship Circle (partnering local high school students with children who have special needs and their families), and Gan Israel summer and winter camps.
